We have been here for over a year now and are starting to notice subtle changes that are making us a part of our culture. Many of the changes are in things that, when we first got here, we thought we would NEVER do or try!

For example, we were not here long before we blogged about all the weird flavors of chips, cookies and candies. Now, if you were to look in our cabinet, you would find seaweed flavor and teriyaki salmon flavor Lay's and baked corn flavored Cheetos. You would be amazed at how good they actually are.
Then, a few weeks ago, we borrowed a friends motorcycle for a few days to "practice" driving one here. When we first got here we would see everyone texting while they were riding their motorcycles. We thought they were crazy! Well, one day while Kenny and I were out riding it got a little late so I had to let the kids know where we were. I took out the phone to text Bre. Kenny thought it was hilarious that I was doing what I used to think was crazy.

Our latest endeavor at cultural meshing was a day of riding becaks around town. This was the first time we braved the becak because you are in the midst of all the crazy traffic.
It is nice to feel like you are becoming a part of the community around you, especially when it is happening in such a way that you don't even realize it is happening!
