Welcome

Welcome to our blog. Our family has recently embarked on an incredible journey. We have moved from our small town in the United States to a large city in Southeast Asia. The adjustments are going to be many and we want to share our adventure with you. We have been led to this country with a two fold purpose. Kenny will begin honing his photography skills and put them to work. And of course, as followers of Chri$t, we pray that we will be salt and light to those we encounter and build relationships with along the way. We hope you enjoy our journey and come back often!

Practice, Practice, Practice

This past weekend, in the midst of Ethan's sleepover, Kenny and I had the wonderful opportunity to take some family photos for our friends while her mom was in town visiting.  We had a great time, even if we did start at 6 a.m. in an attempt to beat the sun and heat…which we failed to do!
We went to a couple of locations and had a great time experimenting.

It's easy to experiment when your subjects are so photogenic!

This is Mama.  She is probably half way home by now and is being missed terribly by her beautiful daughter!

These photos were taken in an abandoned resort that was left only half built. It's really cool with some of walls only half finished and huge open spaces where it looks like windows would have eventually gone.

It has a great view of the mountain on one side and the city on the other.

Then Kenny spotted this chair downstairs…what a find!  (And apparently the building is not completely abandoned!)

Of course they had their dog with them…it's not a family photo without the beloved pet!

Bimo did a great job as well!  He's such a good dog.

These photos were taken at a nearby Hindu temple.  It is over a thousand years old and is a popular hang out spot for the local kids when they get out of school.

The candids made some of the best shots!  He was giving her a hard time because she didn't want to look at him.

It was a great morning and we had lots of fun.  These are only twenty of the almost 100 photos that were chosen from the 600 that were taken.  We were very busy, but our very generous friends said they wouldn't mind letting us experiment with them again!  Kenny and I are trying to get in as much practice with our community here so we will be better at portraits before we get back to the states…just in case that is the direction our Father would have us take.
